In what is perhaps the strangest video game crossover in recent memory, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, an upcoming RPG for the Nintendo Switch, has leaked ahead of its official unveiling.
The game will reportedly feature Nintendo’s iconic plumber and crew, along with Ubisoft’s Raving Rabbids(itself an offshoot of the Rayman series). Interestingly, it appears as though Ubisoft will be publishing the game and not Nintendo.
Though there’s not a lot known about the game at this early stage, a source has leaked some information to Nintendo World Report. For starters, the game will reportedly feature gameplay comprised of 65% turn-based battles, and 35% exploration. Combat will be weapons based, and each player will feature a unique playstyle.
During the roughly 20 hours of gameplay, players will explore four puzzle-filled world environments, the details of which are still under wraps. Bizarrely, the Mario gang and his Rabbid friends will not be controllable, but will be directed by a new character named Tuttorio.
If the game plans on making its September-August release date window, it’s all but a guarantee that the game will be unveiled at next month’s E3, and you can bet it’ll be during Ubisoft’s presentation.
